What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your initial appointment is designed to give us a complete picture of your oral health so we can create a dental plan tailored to your unique needs. Your visit typically includes:
- A review of your medical and dental history, medications, and goals
- Digital X-rays with up to 90% less radiation than traditional film
- A comprehensive exam, including checks for cavities, cracked teeth, and existing restorations
- A periodontal evaluation to screen for gum disease
- VELscope oral cancer screening
- Intraoral camera images so you can see what we see
- A professional cleaning when appropriate
- A clear discussion of findings and personalized treatment recommendations

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We are happy to welcome new patients of all ages to our West Los Angeles office.
What happens at my first dental visit?
Your first visit includes a health history review, digital X-rays, a comprehensive exam, gum and oral cancer screenings, and a discussion of your personalized treatment plan.
How long is the first appointment?
Plan for about an hour so we have time for a thorough exam, X-rays, and to answer your questions.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance information, a list of medications, and any recent dental records or X-rays.
Will I get a cleaning at my first visit?
In many cases, yes. If we find signs of gum disease, we may recommend a deep cleaning at a separate appointment.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer CareCredit® and Cherry financing to help spread the cost of treatment.
I’m nervous about the dentist. What should I do?
